Printed Pants

Printed pants are hear to stay for another season. They will continue this Autumn/Winter and extend into Spring. We've seen everything from florals, geometric shapes, baroque themes, jacquard and animal prints.  This trend is trans-seasonal allowing you to dress up your printed pants in summer with a simple tank or layer with jackets and scarves in winter.  They are also a great way to jazz up a corporate look.
I have styled some fun printed pant ensembles for you below. The first two looks can be purchased from Highpoint Shopping Centre.
Why not jump on this trend and brighten up your winter wardrobe!

Get The Great Gatsby Look

It has been hard to miss the buzz surrounding Baz Luhrmann's film 'The Great Gatsby.' Together with Luhrmann's talented wife, Catherine Martin who has been production designer of all of his films, they recreated the roaring 20's with an almost fantasy like feel. Both men and women are taking inspiration from the film and applying it to their wardrobe.
The 1920's is a decade that I have always been fascinated with. In fact, I had a 1920's themed 21st Birthday party and designed a dress that my mother made. I am wearing it in my look below. It was an experience I will never forget and mum and I are both so proud of how the dress turned out.
I have also put together some fun Great Gatsby inspired looks for you below. It is such an indulgent and glamorous period where too much was never an issue. You could drape yourself in jewels and embellished clothing and let's not forget the incredible headwear.
At the bottom of this post I have styled a complete 'Gatsby' look that you can source from Highpoint Shopping Centre.

Styling with Geometric Prints

Bold geometric prints of all sizes have been revealed amongst top designers during their Spring 2013 runway shows. Louis Vuitton presented a white and yellow and classic black and white checkered catwalk. Louis Vuitton's classic square block pattern shows an influence from the 1960's. Other designers modernised this print by cutting out squares and filling these negative spaces with mesh whilst others have played on the check print, making it more subtle choosing similar tones for the background and print.
Amongst the geometric shapes, designers have integrated wide vertical stripes/lines into their collections. This is such a fun trend to invest in. If you are one of many who have a black filled wardrobe why not invest in a fun geometric piece to jazz up your winter looks. I have styled some geometric inspired outfits for you below. All products are available at Highpoint Shopping Centre or check out their online store with the links provided below.

WET LOOK/LEATHER PANTS

Good news ladies, you don't have to wait for a 'Grease' dress up party to wear leather leggings/pants.  Leather pants, leggings panelled with Faux leather as well as the new 'wet' textile pant are the perfect addition to your winter wardrobe. Whilst creating an edgy look, they can be styled in a conservative manner by layering under a long coat. I also like to style them with different lengths and textures creating a rich winter look.
Below I have styled some looks using either leather/faux and wet look pants and leggings. All products are available from Highpoint Shopping Centre.
